Portrait Study1

I have been working on this portrait for two sessions. My model has a very pale completion and a sunny disposition, very cheerful, very easy to work with :) We meet a couple of times a week at my studio. Sometimes I have hard time concentrating on painting or drawing if I feel disconnected from the model...

The bigeest accomplishment yet

I have just finished watching the complete 12.5 seasons of
"South Park"
on www.southparkstudios.com

Thank you all for being such excellent supporters of me while I was engaged in going through each and every single episode ever in the history of "South Park". Indeed, I feel deeply, deeply honored. If I only had one wish to grant, I wish I could find a free way to watch every single episode of the"Family Guy" ...

More studies

More 30 second gesture studies and quick oil studies.

Left hand approach, interesting to see left hand is looser than right hand.

New model

I spent three hours today focusing on a series of 30 second gesture drawings. In the beginning it was hard to "feel" the figure, it wasn't until the end of the second hour did I began to warm up. By the end of the session I felt my brain came to a much more clear association with my hand. The figures on the paper became less broken, more in shape and more active. I'm hoping to continue the study as it is truly vital to all of my works.

Summer free lancing job

This was a nice little project I rushed to finish before the summer vacation (literally, day before). The project was quite interesting,; it is the cover page of a musical script, written by a very talented young musician who studies in a university in town. It was a demanding job, as every free lancing artist all have to experience at some point of their career. I have to say though, it was a lot of fun working on it;)

Still in progress..

Still working on the study... I have a model coming this week, which we will be working on some gesture drawings, just to help me to get back in "shape".

Yes, it is a BIG DEAL!

I admit I reacted a bit inappropriate to professor Clambroth's sudden transition from "Hugo" to "Mango" this morning, in a elevator ride. But what do you expect? He was unrecognizable!!

I still don't get it, why did he shave his beard?? After all these years? (30yr+) Why???
What could drive a "true believer" of facial hair off the wagon? Enconomy? Body snatcher?
Italian diction? Or just...life? Perhaps I need to stop wondering about such things and go to bed! :)

Utrecht Adult painting competition

This is Elana, a former graduate of my school who now teaches at Swarthmore College. (Visit her website here) :)
She is a very passionate, inventive and persistent painter. (and a loving mother of a newborn baby) We had a great time "competing" in an art supply store:) I count this as the "warm up" before the real creativeness begins.
