When slaughtering goes beyond imagination

I' had been thinking about writing a post about the "Medicinal Panthera Tigris Altaica Products" for a longtime, and why hadn't I touch the subject? I suck at writing stuff like this. So, here's a drawing I did and a few facts(From Wikipedia).

Traditional Asian medicine

Many people in China have a belief that various tiger parts have medicinal properties, including as pain killers and aphrodisiacs.[111] There is no scientific evidence to support these beliefs. The use of tiger parts in pharmaceutical drugs in China is already banned, and the government has made some offenses in connection with tiger poaching punishable by death. Furthermore, all trade in tiger parts is illegal under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and a domestic trade ban has been in place in China since 1993. Still, there are a number of tiger farms in the country specialising in breeding the cats for profit. It is estimated that between 5,000 and 10,000 captive-bred, semi-tame animals live in these farms today.

Tiger Wine

Tiger Oil

I am proud of my heritage, and my culture, but I am deeply ashamed and angered by the greedy people who are making a fortune on the slaughtered tigers. I hope one day the slaughtering would stop, and that one day isn't too far away.

  1. IH suni, well the title says it all.
And it was a great post.
It seems that my country suffers from the same illness as yours.
I would like to explain this without writting a very long post but that would be an impossible task.
Do you know why i bring about the news about the Iberian Lynx so often ?
Because i´ve never seen one up close. And why ?
Because they were all butchered all over Portugal and Spain for their pelts.
Now only a few remain in the wild and as i´ve been showing you there are these pathetic attempts to breed the "IL" in A Man made habitat.
I often wonder how we got to such a depressive and sad result.
And it isn´t just the IL, but also wolves and so many other animal and plant species.
Yeah, it seems that we have a long way to go, let´s hope it´s not too late.
    Love the drawing :)

  2. Thanks, Diogo. Sad, but it is the present reality. I see people wearing fur coats all the time, owning multiple fur coats is a symbol of "financial status". Ironically, most people who lack intelligence prefer to display themselves in expensive things like fur coats, otherwise they feel deprived, as they are.
Eventually we will be left alone on this scared planet, maybe then things will be different :(
