Two portrait studies.
A person's mouth it's the hardest part of a portrait painting, to me of course. If I think of the mouth as simple plains then I don't get lured into the local color since the coloration of the lips aren't shadows. A tanned person is also very hard to paint, talking about variations, err!

But she looks tanned to me ! It´s an awsome skin tone,also that first drawing is quite tridimensional.Don´t draw that much these days but i find Burn Hogarth´s (He´s the guy that used to draw tarzan) books quite usefull.
