How do we cope with being an artist?

This chart I drew basically depicts how I feel about getting my degree and growing up as a painter. As you can see, nothing in life goes quite as planned, so spontaneity is great, can you imagine all clouds look the same? That would be horrifying.
How do painters become masters? And why can't we create true Masters in our modern time? Well, life was so much simpler when Blackberry and Apple were just fruits (totally borrowed that one).

  2. You are so right little one.
As for the chart, I had no idea, most people (me included for a long time) have this idea that most Artists (the real ones) are just born with this amazing talent and have these sort of Midas touch where everything they touch with a mere brush stroke just turns to gold.
    There´s a lot of hard,hard,hard work involved.
    Loved it.

  3. Thanks John, it's not bad, not BAD :)
And BB, we just saw a Rembrandt preview recently. Seeing his sketch works and paintings just makes you wonder what was with him at his time that differs us from him? The answer, I think, it is because we are a bit esoteric to our times, and we can not go back in history. On the bright sight, we have more freedom in subject than Rembrandt ever did back in him time. So it doesn't look that sad after all! More importantly, it takes passion and discipline, which we will always have if truly love something.
