All about that landscap class...

We were outside painting the river scene one day, it was in the beginning of the spring...

The park was filled with students painting, people skating and lovers talking. One of my classmates was painting right next to the river railing when behind her appeared to be two lovers kissing each other fanatically...And it was very funny to watch because....

I know she was trying her best "not noticing" what these two lover boys were doing behind her, they just did not care when, where, or what they were doing or what people may think of them. They were just so courageous. IT WAS TOTALLY HILARIOUS THOUGH!!

My landscape teacher, Larry, loves painting outdoors. He always has a cup of coffee in his hand.
He also likes to use hand gestures when he talks to people about their paintings. This guy is one hundred and twenty percent awesome and I love him to death.

Or I love to death him-- he was so into explaining his painting methods that the hand holding the coffee could not help but keep splashing my coat, hanging on the tool cart, with each different gesture. I didn't say anything or rather I couldn't say anything. Who wants to interrupt such an enthusiastic teacher? Thanks for all the help Larry! I had a great time studying with you and the class :)

RIVER FRONT LANDSCAPE

I love every season of the year! And I especially love painting outdoor in the spring, summer and in the fall. It just feel so great to get out of the studio and enjoy the weather creatively :)

Meanwhile for people who spend an awful lot of time at home, or orient their life between the television and the sofa, perhaps it's time for you to come out that "fat-stocking" life style and start to live like human! If you want to be healthy happy and attractive you have to work on it! Bad habits don't help and it's time to say "no" to them if you think your life is a mess! Most of times people who complain about their the problems they have in life brought it to themselves, I hope wisdom of time would wake these people up once for all :)

So draw-a-thon was a lot of fun...We actually got really good pizzas :)
As ASE is approaches, I start to see more people showing up in their studios. Some I have met only a few times this year...
Andre Rieu is coming to town! My boyfriend was able get early tickets for his long waited concert for me, which will be the best birthday gift ever! :D I am just so happy right now!!

JUBILATE!

This past weekend my loved one and I went to see AVA'S <*Jubilate*>. We saw many familiar faces and it was yet again another wonderful performance put on by AVA.
I am also preparing to perform in a volunteer program, this will be my first private performance, I hope people don't scare away from my wacky voice :)

How are reality dating shows becoming more popular?

First you select a group of people including a very self-centered protagonist, he/she must have the quality and the personality of a circus clown, who obviously is just looking for a convenient hook up using the excuse of "love seeking".
The rest of the group is a bunch of carefully picked out young women/men who are often disproportionated from over sized silicon filling, too much make up, puffy lip injection and excessive gym training. They are what we called "the eye candy"personnel. This particular group plays the role of gladiator following the simple rule of the last one standing wins the game. Every episode someone is eliminated from the show for various reasons. It is really pretty obvious that these people are here for anything but true love. If you look into their backgrounds, it's not hard to see why they don't care about broadcasting their nasty behavior in front of an audience of millions. Some of them, or most of them have something to do with the growth of the porn-industry.

Ultimately, the last surviver kicks out everyone and wins the heart of the protagonist. The romance usually lasts for six months before the shooting of the next season. Then they announce the "unfortunate break up" of the couple, alas!

:)Reality TV shows still rock!:)

DON'T EVER UNDER-ESTIMATE BLUE!

The homeless lady from the corner of my school has been around before I came around. She seems lonely yet she is always fully occupied..with endless naps.

She doesn't own a dog like many other homeless people do, she rather live along(i think). There's never a time that she is happy or sad, she is just plain mad.

She yells to the air sometimes...I'm not sure whether she is talking to herself or someone else. I think she must had a very tough life before it hit her right in between the eyes and knocked her out of her consciousness.

But one day, as I was walking past her for the three hundred and one time she turned around and said:

"DON'T EVER UNDER-ESTIMATE BLUE!"

What a shock...
And she was right, I've always abused and under-estimated blue pigments. She must be the guardian of pigments.

CLIP TIME!

PAFA student show coming in two months!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWP4DzRnOpM

There is basically one week for the student to put up and get ready for the show before the private and public viewing. If you are applying for certificate or BFA at PAFA, you have to at least show once during third or fourth year, meanwhile you are also required to be full time for both third and fourth academic year.

Father and Daughter is a 2000 Dutch animated short film, made by Michaël Dudok De Wit. It won the 2000 Academy Award for Animated Short Film.
This film was recommended by one of my friends. It's worth watching. I like its simplicity and the drawing quality. Although I did not tear my eyes out like she did, perhaps it's because I can hardly recall anything about my father. I kind of guessed the ending half way down the film but it still turned out pretty heavy.

FLOWER painting

Flowers
Oil on Canvas

This morning's landscape class in the Horticultural Center had to be indoor because of the rainy weather so I picked me some nice red flowers to paint. Flower painting is usually not my subject since I am more of a "motion" painter, however today was an exception. It was an absolute joy painting flowers while listening to Figaro in that nice & warm green house. BRAVO!!

Spring break and the Aftermath!

hair + an unknown form of tool (unfinished)

DON PASQUALE
(still playing by the Academy of Vocal Arts*AVA)

AVA did a such wonderful job with Don Pasquale at the Walter K. Gordon Theater. All actors/actress were raising star in the industry as well as AVA's residents. Seeing DP totally changed my impression of some of the singers at AVA, only from good to better. The female singer who played the role of Norina was just UN-believable! She was small but full of sound , wild but shy, smart but silly, she was just born for the role! I am totally in LOVE with her and I hope to see more of her performance in the future!:)
The Spring break went so fast I wish there were two weeks of fun time, pics are available on my MYSPACE...
March marks the beginning of the ASE madness, things will go insanely busy from now to May. And my b-day is coming up, think this year I may go to the legendary
B & B
and sing with LisaLisa :P

Paul Cézanne at PMA and SPRING BREAK!!

Finally, Spring break comes!!!! For a part of the week I am going to be around my studio working on finishing up some paintings for the ASE exhibition. Before returning for the weekend class and "Don Pasquale" I have three days to find somewhere sunny and warm...

Last weekend I attended the "Cezanne and Beyond" exhibition at PMA. The show was fantastic! A lot of his still life, portrait and landscapes are in exhibition. There were many guards but they were somewhat relaxed people, meaning you can actually walk up pretty close to the paintings and exam their surface, very halpful!

Paul Cézanne's bathers, one of Cézanne best known work.

Paul Cézanne Still Life, a subject throughout Cézanne's artistic life.

One of Cézanne's portraits

However, if the organizer can put a limit on visitors I would probably be able to stay as long as I pleased, but instead I was pushed and rushed out of the museum because there were simply too many people :(

Don Pasquale This weekend!!
